Privacy Policy

KaiTale

Effective: 6 November 2026

KaiTale is an iPhone and iPad app for language learners, made by Kaifuz Studio. You record a story, pin the words you want to learn, and practise it sentence by sentence. This policy says what stays on your device, what leaves it, and when.

1. No account

KaiTale has no account and no sign-in. We do not collect your name or email address unless you write to us.

2. What stays on your device

Your recordings, word logs, notes, summaries and settings are stored on your device only. They leave the device only when you export or share them, or when you use KaiTale cloud as described in section 4. Deleting the app deletes them from the device. If you back up your device, for example to iCloud, your backups may still hold a copy until Apple removes them under its own terms.

3. Microphone and speech recognition

The microphone is used only while you record.

Speech recognition “on this phone” uses Apple's speech recognition. For some languages Apple processes the audio online, and the app asks you before sending it.

4. KaiTale cloud (optional)

KaiTale cloud is optional. It is used only when you press a key that says it uses KaiTale cloud. When you do, one of two things is sent over HTTPS to KaiTale's service:

KaiTale's service runs on Cloudflare Workers and uses AI models hosted by Cloudflare Workers AI. The audio and text are processed to produce the answer and are not stored by us.

With each request the app also sends:

The service keeps only counters:

IP addresses are used transiently for rate limiting.

5. Purchases

Payment for KaiTale Pro is handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase history, and basic device and app information such as the app version, OS version and country or storefront. We do not receive your payment details.

6. Ads

On the free plan, a rewarded ad from Google AdMob is shown only when you choose to watch one before using KaiTale cloud. Google's SDK may collect device identifiers, your IP address (which indicates an approximate location), and ad interaction and diagnostic data. Google handles this data under the Google Privacy Policy.

The app does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps. KaiTale Pro shows no ads.

7. Sending files from a computer

When you send files from a computer on the same Wi-Fi, they go directly from the computer to the phone on your local network. They do not pass through our servers.

8. Analytics

The app contains no analytics SDK of our own.

9. Children

KaiTale is not directed to children under 13.
