Delete your KaiReader account and data
Last updated: October 19, 2026
An account is optional in KaiReader. If you signed in with Google or Apple, you can delete the account and the data linked to it yourself.
How to request deletion
- In the app: open Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm.
- Cannot open the app? Email privacy@kaifuz.com from the address on your account, naming the app (KaiReader), and ask us to delete it.
What is deleted
- your Penpal profile (handle, languages and bio), if you created one;
- your block list and the reports you filed;
- the text of the letters you sent, which is replaced with “[deleted]”;
- the session on this device, so the app signs you out.
What is kept
- a record that the account was deleted (an account identifier and a timestamp), kept so the deleted account cannot be signed back into by an old session;
- short-lived abuse counters tied to an IP address, which expire on their own after about two days;
- the purchase record that the app store and RevenueCat keep so a purchase can be restored. It is not linked to your email address.
Data that is only on your device
What you read, your saved vocabulary, notes, review progress and settings stay on your device and are never sent to us. Remove them by clearing the app's data or uninstalling KaiReader.
More detail is in the Privacy Policy.
