KaiPlay (formerly BabyVocab) is designed for young children and their parents. Privacy and safety are built into its core architecture: offline-first operation, no ads, no behavioral profiling, and strict parent-gated controls.

1. Offline-First & Data Storage

All flashcards, progress memory, custom decks, and parent settings stay strictly on your Android device. KaiPlay does not require an account, does not connect to advertising servers, and does not upload your child's usage data.

2. Device Permissions

KaiPlay requests only essential permissions necessary for educational playback:

RECORD_AUDIO: Used exclusively for local pronunciation recording exercises during active learning games. Audio stays on-device and is never transmitted.
INTERNET: Used strictly if parents explicitly request downloading remote Deck packs. No analytics or tracking packages are included.

3. Protection of Children’s Privacy (COPPA-Aware)

KaiPlay is built with COPPA principles in mind. We do not collect personal identifiable information (PII) from children. There are no social sharing features, no push notifications with commercial intent, and no in-app purchase triggers accessible to children.

4. Parent Gate & Settings

All configuration screens, deck importing tools, and session limits are protected behind a math or multi-tap Parent Gate to prevent accidental modification by children.
